TRACADIE COTTAGES POLICIES
We want your stay to be fun, safe and trouble free.
Welcome to Tracadie Cottages. Our goal is to provide a clean, safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment for all guests. By confirming a reservation, checking in, or occupying a cottage, guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with these House Rules. Guests also authorize Tracadie Cottages to charge the credit card on file for any fees, damages, cleaning charges, missing items, policy violations, or other amounts owing under these House Rules.
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
Check-in time is 3:00 PM.
Check-out time is 10:00 AM.
Guests who require an early check-in or late check-out should contact management in advance. Requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
CLEANLINESS AND HOUSEKEEPING
We strive to maintain clean and comfortable cottages for all our guests to enjoy. Guests are responsible for keeping their cottage reasonably clean throughout their stay and leaving it in good condition upon departure.
Before departure, guests are required to:
• Wash and put away all dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Remove all food items from refrigerators and cupboards.
• Dispose of all garbage and recycling in the designated bins provided on the property.
• Return furniture and household items to their original locations.
• Before departure, please place the TV remotes beside the television and return any other remote controls to their original locations.
If a cottage is left in a condition requiring cleaning beyond normal turnover procedures, including but not limited to excessive garbage, unwashed dishes, food waste, stains, spills, or other unusual messes, a cleaning fee of $165 will be charged to the credit card on file.
BARBECUES
Each cottage is equipped with a propane BBQ for guest use. Guests are asked to clean the BBQ after each use and return BBQ tools to the kitchen.
We make every effort to ensure propane tanks remain adequately supplied. If a tank runs low during your stay, replacement tanks are available upon request.
TOWELS AND LINENS
Bath towels provided are intended for use inside the cottages only.
For your convenience, one beach towel is provided per guest. Guests are encouraged to bring additional beach towels, particularly for use at the red sand beaches, as the natural sand can be difficult to remove from fabric. Beach towels may be used freely at white sand beaches.
LAUNDRY FACILITIES
A laundry shack is located on the property and includes a washer and dryer available for guest use at no charge. Laundry detergent is also provided.
SMOKING, VAPING, AND CANNABIS
Smoking of any substance, including tobacco and cannabis, is strictly prohibited inside cottages and on cottage porches.
Guests who wish to smoke must do so at least 10 feet (3 metres) away from any cottage, building, entrance, or gathering area.
Vaping is prohibited inside cottages but is permitted on porches and in outdoor common areas provided it does not disturb other guests.
Cannabis use is subject to the same smoking restrictions outlined above. We ask all guests to use cannabis responsibly and respectfully, particularly around families and children.
Any guest found smoking inside a cottage or on a porch will be subject to a $200 charge for each violation, which may be charged to the credit card on file.
FIRE SAFETY
For the safety of all guests, the use of candles, lighters, incense, fireworks, or any other form of open flame inside cottages or on porches is strictly prohibited.
All cottages are equipped with smoke alarms and a fire extinguisher located in the kitchen. Guests are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the location of all safety equipment upon arrival.
The use of fireworks anywhere on the property is strictly prohibited.
FIRE PITS
Before using the fire pit, guests must review and comply with current Prince Edward Island campfire regulations. https://www.princeedwardisland.ca/en/information/land-and-environment/campfires
Guests are responsible for ensuring that campfires are permitted under current provincial regulations before lighting a fire. Fires must never be left unattended and must be fully extinguished before leaving the area.
Tracadie Cottages reserves the right to prohibit fire pit use at any time due to weather conditions, fire risk, government restrictions, or safety concerns.
PETS
To maintain a clean, comfortable, and allergy-friendly environment for all guests, pets are not permitted on the property.
Trained service animals assisting individuals with disabilities are welcome in accordance with applicable laws. Guests requiring accommodation are encouraged to notify management before arrival.
If an undisclosed pet is brought onto the property, the guest may be required to leave the property and may be prohibited from future stays. Additional cleaning, allergen remediation, damage repair, and related costs will be charged to the guest.
VISITORS AND OCCUPANCY
Only registered guests included in the reservation may stay overnight in the cottages.
Visitors are welcome provided they comply with these House Rules and do not disturb other guests. Tracadie Cottages reserves the right to limit or prohibit visitors when necessary for the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all guests.
QUIET HOURS AND GUEST CONDUCT
Quiet hours are in effect from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
Guests are asked to respect the comfort, enjoyment, and well-being of others at all times. Excessive noise, loud music, parties, disruptive behaviour, or conduct that interferes with another guest’s enjoyment of the property is not permitted.
Violence, harassment, intimidation, threats, abusive behaviour, or illegal activity of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the property without refund. Serious incidents may be reported to law enforcement authorities.
As a privately owned property, Tracadie Cottages reserves the right to refuse service, cancel a stay, or require any guest to leave the property if these House Rules are violated.
GUEST SAFETY AND LIABILITY
Guests are responsible for their own safety and for the supervision and safety of any children in their care at all times.
Guests acknowledge that weather conditions, wildlife, insects, uneven terrain, natural hazards, and other environmental conditions may be present on the property and agree to exercise reasonable caution.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tracadie Cottages shall not be liable for accidents, injuries, loss of personal property, or other incidents arising from a guest’s actions, negligence, misuse of facilities, failure to follow these House Rules, or failure to exercise reasonable care while on the property.
PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOSS, AND MISSING ITEMS
Guests are responsible for any loss of or damage to the cottage, its contents, furnishings, equipment, appliances, electronics, linens, towels, and other inventory items during their stay.
Missing items may be charged at replacement cost.
Any loss or damage to furnishings, equipment, inventory, or the property itself may be charged to the credit card used for the reservation.
In cases involving significant damage, repair costs will be determined based on a professional contractor’s assessment, estimate, or invoice. Guests will be responsible for the full cost of repairs, replacement, materials, labour, and any related expenses necessary to restore the property.
Guests are encouraged to promptly report accidental damage or loss by email, telephone, or in person. Prompt reporting helps ensure that issues can be resolved fairly and efficiently.
Failure to report known damage or loss may result in an administrative fee of up to $250 to cover inspection, documentation, coordination, and administration associated with the claim, in addition to repair or replacement costs.
Should collection efforts become necessary to recover unpaid amounts, guests may also be responsible for reasonable collection costs, legal fees, court costs, and related expenses as permitted by law.
