Is There a Maximum Stay Period?

No, you can stay as long as you like.  Most guests generally stay between 3 days and two weeks.

What is Your Cancellation Policy?

Because of COVID-19 and changing travel restrictions, the usual cancellation policy is being relaxed.  Guests may cancel without penalty up to 24 hours in advance.  The normal policies outlined below do not apply until further notice.  Please note, no shows will still result in 100% of the total booking cost applied to your credit card or PayPal account.

Since PEI is such a popular tourist destination every cancellation is a lost opportunity for another potential guest. As such, we need to be fair to everyone. Summer is a very popular time for tourism in PEI and many cottages are fully booked well in advance, so there is a one week cancellation policy in effect so we can make the cottage available to someone else.  Also during winter months, we may need to clear snow off the driveway and the properties, therefore there is a one week cancellation policy to ensure that we can prepare for your stay and any inclement weather.

  • Peak Season: June 24 to Sept 5, we require a minimum one week notice.
  • Regular Season: June 1 to June 24, we require a minimum of 72 hours notice.
  • Low Season: Sept 6 to May 31, we require a minimum of one week notice.

During regular season, cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled arrival will result in 30% of the total booking cost applied to your credit card.  Last minute cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled arrival time will result in 50% of the total booking cost applied to your credit card.

Vaping is not permitted inside the cottages, however it is permitted on the porches and common grounds.

We recognize that cannabis is legal and it is your right to enjoy it.  However, the use of cannabis is subject to the aforementioned smoking policies.  Please use it responsibly and avoid smoking it around other guest’s children.

Fire Prevention

The use of candles, lighters or any other form of open flame inside the cottages or on the porches is strictly forbidden.  The only permitted use of any flame is the wood burning stove located inside the Crows Nest cottage. The door must remain closed on the stove after lighting the fire.  Guests are responsible for any damage caused by use of the stove and will be charged a $200 fine plus damages.

All cottages are equipped with a fire extinguisher located in the kitchen.

Keeping it Clean

We strive to maintain clean cottages for your enjoyment.  Guests are responsible to ensure that the cottages remain clean during the duration of their stay and when they depart.  This means washing and putting away all dishes, pots and pans as well as disposing of all garbage in bins provided on the property.  If a guest leaves a cottage in an unclean state, a $125 cleaning fee will be applied to their credit card.

Damage and Loss

We understand that accidents can happen, however, guests are responsible for any damage and loss caused to the property and chattels (inventory items and furnishings).  Loss or damage caused to the chattels will be charged to your credit card. Loss or damage caused to the property will also be charged. In the case of severe damage, assessment of the loss is subject to a builder’s estimate and guests will be responsible to reimburse the full amount and related expenses to Tracadie Cottages.

You are given the opportunity to voluntarily disclose any damage/loss.  Guests can contact us through email, phone or in person for disclosure. You will then be given the opportunity to reimburse us for the loss/damage. Failure to disclose any loss or damage to Tracadie Cottages will result in a $50 fine applied to your credit card in addition to the cost of loss/damage.
